With a successful Seminar and our 40th anniversary celebrations behind us, FERMA has turned its attention to the projects which our European Risk and Insurance Report and Risk Management Benchmarking Survey show us are the priorities for our members.

At the top of our agenda is Certification. The report demonstrates that there is a great need for this qualification, and we are now finalizing the implementation timeline. Continue reading

European organisations need to improve management of top risks

Risk management is developing into a strategic function within European organisations. At the same time, risk management can contribute much more as its strategic role grows. Currently, risk managers are not satisfied with the level of mitigation for six of the top 10 risks “that keep their CEO awake at night”.

These are key findings from the 2014 Risk Management Benchmarking Survey conducted earlier this year by the Federation of European Risk Management Associations (FERMA). Now its 7th edition, the FERMA Benchmarking Survey this year received a record number of 850 responses from 21 European countries. Continue reading

FERMA’s survey results support risk leaders

The 7th FERMA Risk Management Benchmarking Survey provides evidence that risk managers are becoming risk leaders, says FERMA President Julia Graham, ahead of the FERMA Seminar on 20 and 21 October when the results will be released.
Julia explains, “FERMA has said that risk managers are becoming risk leaders – the survey responses provide evidence to support that view. This seventh edition of the Benchmarking Survey, therefore, also endorses our objective to shape and support risk management as a profession.” Continue reading

Record number of survey responses; hard work on analysis is now underway

The 2014 FERMA Risk Management Benchmarking Survey closed on Friday 20 June with a total of 850 replies. This is the highest number of responses the survey has ever received and it means the results are ever more representative of the views of the European risk management community.

The results will be revealed at the FERMA Seminar 2014 on 20 and 21 October in Brussels. An independent survey company Toluna collects the responses. Continue reading
