Madrid, 20th Nov – AGERS.- The Spanish Risk Management and Insurance Association (AGERS) received more than two hundred professionals during its XX Seminar with the purpose of knowing the perspectives on the risks and the insurances sector for the following year.

The XX AGERS Seminar, Risks and Insurances 2015, that reached its twentieth edition, began at 9 am at the Meliá Castilla Hotel and concluded with an exclusive session for Risk Managers at these facilities. Continue reading

Paolo Rubini insights of the ANRA Annual Conference

On September 25th and 26th the 15th edition of the Annual ANRA Convention took place in Milan. An event which over the years has established itself as the most important opportunity to discuss and reflect on risk management issues in our country. Our latest edition was attended by over 400 guests, including over 100 Risk Managers and Insurance Managers, 161 insurers and reinsurers, 64 brokers, 46 company enterprise experts, 14 institutions, universities, associations, to which more than 60 staff members must be added. An unprecedented success in the history of ANRA, which puts us on a par with the most successful events in Europe, such as the one sponsored by FERMA, the European Federation of Risk Management Associations, and with major associations such as the AIRMIC in the UK, the AMRAE in France, DVS Germany. Switzerland – Annual SIRM Forum

Over 150 risk managers, brokers and insurers gathered at SIRM’s annual meeting on the 4th and 5th November in Pfaeffikon, near Zurich.

The first afternoon, during which members of the SIRM had various presentations, in particular on the recent FERMA Benchmarking Survey or a presentation on Employee Benefits, was followed by an always appreciated evening drinks and gala dinner. Continue reading

Coverage of the largest and exceptional risks still needs an exemption from EU competition rules

In a response submitted to the European Commission on Tuesday 4 November, the Federation of European Risk Management Associations (FERMA) has called for renewal of the Insurance Block Exemption Regulation (IBER) for (re)insurance pools.

The Commission launched a consultation in August to begin its assessment whether the claimed benefits for the insurance market and customers of insurance pooling still justify the special treatment they receive from EU competition authorities. The Commission must provide a report to member states before 31 March 2016 with the objective of deciding on its renewal in 2017. Continue reading
